QR Code Link to This Post John W. Benedetti, a native to Seattle Washington has been playing trumpet since the age of 6, and been singing since the age of 7. Although singing was a passion of his for many years, playing the trumpet took precedence over his passion for singing and has lead a career as a lead trumpet player for the past 15 years.

After High School, John attended Bellevue College under the direction of Hal Sherman where for 3 years John played lead trumpet for Bellevue College. While at Bellevue College John recorded several albums, traveled the to Paris and Berlin playing for various jazz venues, and began his freelance career in Seattle as a lead trumpet player.

In 2001, John continued his education in music at the University of Washington. In his first quarter, John was awarded a "New Recruitment Achievement Award" and was granted a full scholarship for his first year. While studying at the University of Washington John excelled quickly and was playing for various ensembles, including the Studio Jazz Ensemble and the University of Washington Wind Ensemble. In 2003, John did several recordings with the Wind Ensemble playing principal trumpet and in May of 2003 traveled to Japan to perform in the famous Kobe Performance Hall. John completed his double bachelor's degree in music in 2005 and also established himself as frequently called lead trumpet player.

John has played for numerous amounts of famous musicians including: Dick Oattes, Randy Brecker, Jon Fedchock, and recently performed with the new, up and coming soul singer, Allen Stone.

Since 2005, John has played with a variety of professional ensembles throughout the greater Northwest. John's biggest claim to fame in Seattle is landing the lead trumpet/vocal position with the Northwest's Premier Rock and Soul band FREDDY PINK.

Since 2006 John traveled the greater parts of the United States playing lead trumpet and signing back-up vocals with Freddy Pink and played many corporate events and social events until 2011.

In October 2011, John was acquired by an agent from Canada and has been working on cruise ships for the past year and half. While working on cruise ships John has performed for many famous entertainers including Bobby Arvon from the Happy Days tv show, to Kenny James who was featured on Star Search with Ed McMahon.

John has been rapidly becoming a top call player in New York, working with the top booking companies throughout the tri-state area. John has also played an Off -Broadway production of "Shrek the Musical" and continues to book for a variety of freelance jobs throughout the city.
